BAPTISM
What is Baptism?
Baptism is a significant act of obedience and public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolises the believer’s spiritual journey of death to sin and new life in Christ. As Jesus Himself was baptised (Matthew 3:13-17), we follow His example to outwardly express the inward transformation that has taken place through salvation.
In baptism, believers are immersed in water, representing their identification with Christ’s death and burial, as described in Romans 6:3-4:
“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Can I be Baptised
We believe every individual who has decided to follow Jesus should be baptised. The sole requirement is that you have chosen to place your faith and trust in Christ.
Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'” —Matthew 28:18–20
